About
Audrey Cushman is a contemporary impressionist painter whose work invites the viewer to slow down and experience the beauty and emotion found in the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the outdoors, Audrey’s paintings capture the fleeting effects of light, color, and atmosphere. She balances spontaneity with intention through expressive brushwork, nuanced use of color, and careful attention to composition. Her paintings evoke mood and quiet connection with nature.
Davidson College and UNC-Chapel Hill prepared Audrey for a career as a school counselor, but she returned to her love of the arts in 2010. Audrey currently lives in New Bern, NC, where she paints and teaches. Her work has been featured in galleries, exhibitions, and private collections across the country. She is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, the Coastal Plein Air Painters, and the Twin Rivers Artists Association. Audrey's paintings are available at Carolina Creations, Salt Studio and Gallery, and the Mattie King Davis Art Gallery.
